Discover Philly's Most Haunted Places:

Independence Hall

One of the most iconic buildings in American history, Independence Hall is where many significant documents of freedom and liberty were penned. Is that why a strange fog and a musty smell appear near where the Declaration of Independence was signed? The ghosts of the Founding Fathers occupy nearly every corner of this hall of justice.

City Tavern

Even the founding fathers needed to take a load off, and there was no better place to do it than at the City Tavern. This historic 1772 building, where prisoners of war were held during the Revolution, burned to the ground in 1834. Did this fire have anything to do with the woman who appears in the window after everyone has gone home? Gain your liquid courage and find these answers and more with Philly Ghosts.

Independence Beer Garden

The Independence Beer Garden’s lush garden is the perfect setting to hear about John Adam’s mischievous ghost. He shuffles around his favorite photo of one particular beheaded French leader in Congress Hall, bewildering onlookers. Compliment this eerily tale with one of the garden’s 40 beers, wines, or seltzers, and you’ve set yourself up for a night of ghoulish good times.
